Did you know? 💡 As an individual with IDD, you have rights over decisions regarding your well-being and finances. It's essential to ensure you have the right support in place to protect those rights. Two options include Guardianship services or Alternatives to Guardianship.Guardianship is a legal tool that ensures vulnerable individuals receive necessary care and assistance, providing peace of mind for families and caregivers. It establishes a formalized structure for decision-making, safeguarding the rights and well-being of those who need it most.On the other hand, Alternatives to guardianship empower individuals with IDD to make their own choices while receiving the support they need. Supported decision-making agreements allow individuals to choose trusted advocates to help navigate complex decisions without compromising autonomy.Let's spread awareness about these options, ensuring individuals with IDD can exercise their rights and receive the support they deserve. 💪 Learn more at www.arcaustin.org/guardianship-and-alternatives/ #ArcAustin #arcartist #TipTuesday #DidYouKnow #factsaboutidd #IDDempowerment #guardianship #ProtectingRights #SupportingWellbeing #iddrights #guardianshipawareness #SupportedDecisionMaking ...
