About the Arc Respite Program
The Saturday Respite Care Program provides children with developmental disabilities an opportunity to socialize with other children their age, while giving parents a much needed break. This much-needed break allows parents to handle personal errands such as grocery shopping, doctor appointments, and/or work-related activities, or to simply spend time with other family members who may not receive as much attention as their sibling with a disability. These important activities are often difficult to accomplish while caring full-time for a child with a disability.
Details you need to know:
Our Respite Care Program is by appointment only, free of charge, and takes place twice every month for four hours in both Travis and Williamson counties. Each child is matched with a trained respite volunteer who understands their needs and can interact with them appropriately.
Respite activities promote independence, confidence, learning, and improved socialization skills for children with disabilities, and can include arts and crafts, textures/exploration activities, educational board games, and puzzles.

Take IH- 35 N to HWY. 79 (HUTTO/TYLER) exit in Round Rock.
Take a right on HWY 79, and travel about 4 miles or so going east.
You’ll come to a traffic signal (2nd or 3rd one since going east) and it’s just past the police department.
There is a convenient store on the right hand corner, turn right on OLD GEORGETOWN RD and then left into the parking lot. To find the respite, enter the building on the North entrance under the canopy. The Respite room is to your immediate right as you enter.
